Trienekens Sarawak achieves one million safety milestone
KUCHING: The Kuching Logistics and Services division of Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd recently achieved an impressive one million Safe Man-hours of work without any Lost Time Injury (LTI).
To commemorate the accomplishment, the company hosted a celebratory lunch with staff of the division at its headquarters, headed by Group Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Chin.
In his welcoming address, he congratulated the team on their success, adding that the milestone was made especially meaningful because it signified their collective efforts in obtaining excellent safety results in a complicated environment full of daily challenges.
“This achievement was only made possible through the positive attitude, hard work and diligence of our team members.
“Whilst we enjoy our success, we cannot afford to become complacent and must always maintain our belief that unsafe acts and conditions are unacceptable in any workplace,” he said in a press release.
With one of Trienekens’ mission being to pursue quality and safety in all aspects of their work, the milestone also represents a further confirmation of the exceptional working environment in the company that is ISO 9001:2015 certified.
“In recent years, we have been refocusing our health and safety culture towards a more proactive direction, attempting to identify and correct the root cause of incidences before a more serious outcome can occur.
“By embracing these improvements and accepting this change in safe work practices, employees have actively prevented accidents from taking place and have proved that it is possible to carry out their daily activities with a mindset that prioritiSes safety,” said Trienekens’ senior HSE manager Harris Michael.
Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd is the operating company of the Integrated Waste Management System (IWMS) in Sarawak, a holistic environmental management system that integrates the collection, transportation and disposal of both municipal and hazardous waste using modern environmental technology.
Besides providing municipal waste management services for Kuching City’s three largest local councils, Trienekens is also the service provider for hazardous waste management covering East Malaysia, including the Federal Territory of Labuan.
