Sports Commission supports 7K Charity Run

KOTA KINABALU: The 18th Sutera Harbour 7k Sunset Charity Run organising team recently paid a courtesy visit on the Sabah Sports Commission to brief it on the progress of the upcoming biggest charity run in Kota Kinabalu.

Its commission­er, Sempini Langiton congratula­ted Sutera Harbour Resort for complying with the rules and regulation­s set by the commission to any bodies interested in organising any sports event.

“Other run or marathon organisers should emulate the good work done by Sutera Harbour 7K Sunset Charity Run organising committee. They efficientl­y complied with the rules and regulation­s to obtain the permit for this event,¡¦ she said.

Under the Sports Developmen­t Act 1997 (SDA) 1975, organisati­on of any events should get the approval of the Sports Commission­er as stated in the Act, as well as approvals from the relevant bodies of that sport, police and local councils.

Sutera Harbour Resort is inviting everyone to participat­e in this year 7K Sunset Charity Run. The registrati­on fee is at RM42.45 per adult and RM33.00 per student/ child.

There is also a Group Offer for 15 persons and above at RM37.75 per person.

All registrati­on is inclusive of the 7K Dri-Fit T-shirt.

All net proceeds from this event will be distribute­d equally to the 7K Beneficiar­ies, comprising Sabah Thalassaem­ia Society, Special Olympics Sabah and PEMADAM Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu.

Sutera Harbour Resort hopes the funds collected from the 7K Run will assist PEMADAM Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu with the running of their programmes and activities for anti-drug awareness; and for Sabah Thalassaem­ia Society and Special Olympics to continue their admirable efforts in helping the members of their respective organizati­ons.

Registrati­on can be made at the 7K counter located at the Lobby, Sutera Harbour Marina & Country Club. Runners can download the registrati­on form at www. suteraharb­our.com.
