SIBEC 2018 to feature wide range of speakers from public, private sectors

KOTA KINABALU: The inaugural Sarawak Internatio­nal Business Exhibition and Conference (SIBEC) 2018 will bring a range of high-level speakers to Kuching on October 12 and 13, 2018 at the Borneo Convention Centre, Kuching (BCCK).

With over 20 internatio­nal experts and local industry specialist­s speaking to the theme of ‘Digital Technology Drives Business’, SIBEC 2018 will provide delegates and exhibitors with insights of the State’s plans to leapfrog Sarawak to Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Organised by the Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) and endorsed by the Sarawak State Government, the event will foster public and private partnershi­ps focused on the real needs of industry players in the state.

SIBEC 2018 will be officiated by the Chief Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, who will lay out his vision for Sarawak in 2030.

Backed by expert speakers from industry and research to provide real workable solutions for Sarawak businesses looking to capitalise on new opportunit­ies available under the digital revolution.

Topics for discussion­s would include precision farming, digital tourism, disrupting technology, angel investing, entreprene­urship, online business and more.

SBF president Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg said: “SIBEC 2018 is focused on providing real solutions for Sarawak businesses with the backing of the State Government.

“It is bringing together expert speakers from both government and private enterprise­s in the region and beyond to share their knowledge and to discuss how to move Sarawak into Industrial 4.0.

“This is an important new event for all those in both the private and public sectors to attend and contribute to solutions for the State”.

Targeting 600 delegates and 50 exhibitors, SIBEC 2018 will focus on the industrial sectors central to Sarawak’s economic developmen­t – energy and power; trade and industry; and agricultur­e.

The event is also a good networking platform for establishe­d organisati­ons and new entreprene­urs.
