Over 100 health personnel for 7K Charity Run

KOTA KINABALU: Various teams comprising government agencies, corporate bodies, NGOs and schools are all geared up for the highly anticipate­d Sutera Harbour 18th 7K Charity Run which will be held this Saturday.

The charity annual run also sees a great number of participat­ions from members of the public eager to be part of this gallant cause.

The Ministry of Sports and Youth Sabah is sending 140 runners to support the run and other government and corporate bodies have followed suit.

Sabah Health Depatment led by its director, Datuk Dr Christina Rundi, and coordinato­r Dr Vasanthi Binti Selvaraju is the most recent supporter of Sutera Harbour 18th 7K Charity Run.

The department has continuous­ly supported the annual event and this year, more than 100 health personnel are expected to participat­e.

“We are looking into getting more participat­ions from our staff and would really like at looking into sponsoring medals for next year Sutera Harbour Charity Run,” Christina said during a courtesy visit from the Sutera Harbour 7K Charity Run committee.

The charity run, which started in 2000, is the biggest annual community event which aims to raise funds and promote a healthier lifestyle through running.

Anyone interested to participat­e in this noble cause is welcome to register at the 7K counter located at the lobby of Sutera Harbour Marina & Country Club. Runners can download the registrati­on form at http://www. suteraharb­our.com/7k-charityrun

The registrati­on fee is RM42.45 per adult and RM33 per student/ child. There is also a group offer for 15 persons and above at RM37.75 per person. All registrati­on is inclusive of the 7K Dri-Fit T-shirt.

All net proceeds from this event will be distribute­d equally to the 7K beneficiar­ies, namely Sabah Thalassaem­ia Society, Special Olympics Sabah and PEMADAM Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu.

Sponsoring the 18th Sutera Harbour 7K Charity Run are: Ultron as the official apparel, 100Plus and MOMA Water as the official drinks, Astro Radio Sabah as the official radio station, while SPORTS TOTO, Jesselton Medical Centre and Sounds Tech Production as the contributi­ng sponsors.
