ATM FA ordered to pay arrears over RM730,000 to former import player

KUALA LUMPUR: The Football Associatio­n of Malaysia (FAM) has ordered the Malaysian Armed Forces Football Associatio­n (ATM FA) to pay overdue wages of US$180,000 (RM731,175) to former import player Abdulafees Abdulsalam from Nigeria.

The FAM Status Committee in a statement said that ATM FA must settle the amount within a month, beginning yesterday, or the case would be brought to FAM Disciplina­ry Committee under Article 67 of FAM’s Disciplina­ry Code for judgement and official verdict or outcome.

The Kuantan FA club, that was dropped from the Malaysia League in April also received the same fate after being ordered to pay arrears and contract compensati­on amounting to RM721,000 to former coach Ismail Zakaria, four other team officials and a former player.

The four former officials were Mohd Shukri Ismail (RM96,000), Rusdi Suparman (RM60,000), Mohd Faris Ismail (RM24,000 salary and contract compensati­on of RM48,000), Azlisham Ib Berahim (RM52,000 of salary and contract compensati­on of RM91,000) and to pay its former player Abdul Malik Mat Ariff of RM70,000.

FAM, in the statement, also ordered the Penang Football Associatio­n to pay the arrears amounting to RM377,000 to its eight former players.

The players were Mafry Balang (RM76,000), Muhamad Faizat Mohamad Ghazli (RM48,000), Sani Anuar Kamsani (RM80,000), Muhammad Rafiuddin Roddin (RM60,000), K. Reuben (RM40,000), Muhammad Jafri Muhammad Firdaus Chew (RM28,000), Shazalee Ramlee (RM25,000) and Syed Adney Syed Hussein of RM20,000.

Meanwhile, Premier League club, Petaling Jaya Rangers (PJ Rangers FC) has been ordered to compensate the remaining contract totalling RM330,000 to its former coach, Mohd Zan Mat Aris because his contract being ended without complying to the conditions set.

FAM, in the same statement, also ordered FAM League club, Terengganu City FC to pay arrears of RM60,000 and compensati­on amounting to RM120,000 to his former coach, Roshadi Wahab whose contract was terminated without adhering to the conditions set.

Meanwhile, the Kelantan Football Associatio­n (Kafa) was ordered to pay the salary of its former player Mohd Noor Hazrul Mohd Mustafa of RM55,000.

FAM also asserted that all the associatio­ns need to settle the arrears and contract compensati­on to officials and players involved within a month beginning yesterday, or the case would be brought to the FAM Disciplina­ry Committee for further action.
