JOHOR BAHRU: Johor Corporation Group (JCorp) channelled about RM50 million for various corporate responsibility (CR) programmes for the first six months of this year.
President and chief executive Datuk Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim said the biggest contribution to date was a RM29.70 million contribution as subsidy for implementation of the Johor Affordable Housing (RMMJ) construction project.
He said as an agent for the development of the state, JCorp through Johor Land Bhd (JLand) was committed to enhancing the comfort and wellbeing of the people.
“Other contributions were by QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd at RM6.43 million, Kulim (Malaysia) Bhd (RM3.58 million), KPJ Healthcare Bhd (RM3.10 million) and Waqaf An-Nur Corporation Bhd (RM1.08 million).
“JCorp and JLand also channelled contributions of RM2 million and RM850,000 respectively, while other companies within the group gave RM500,00,” he said at the Media Night with media practitioners in Johor here last night.
Kamaruzzaman said in 2017, JCorp Group gave out RM107.81 million for the same purpose.
He said most CR Programmes also involved the participation of hundreds of personnel from the group’s companies to ensure success.
Meanwhile, Kamaruzzaman revealed that KPJ Healthcare’s planning over the next five years involved an increase in the Klinik Waqaf An-Nur network throughout the country.
