Sorry folks, no Iron Maiden concert in Kuching
KUCHING: British heavy metal band Iron Maiden is not likely to perform in Kuching this October, contrary to viral posts on social media.
A check with the management of the State Indoor Stadium, where the purported concert was supposedly due to take place, found no such booking made by any organiser on behalf of Iron Maiden.
“We are perplexed as well, as to how such rumours can circulate since there is no booking made for such concert.
“There are bookings made for the month of October, but none so far for Iron Maiden,” a stadium official who declined to be named told The Borneo Post yesterday.
Meanwhile, Iron Maiden on its official website did not list Kuching as one of the stops of its ongoing ‘Legacy of the Beast Tour 2018’.
The band normally announces – via its website and social media platforms – the next venue for its concert, along with information on ticket prices and how to purchase them.
Rumours of the band performing in Kuching are believed to have been started by a social media post which carried a screenshot of a news article with the heading ‘Iron Maiden will hit Kuching, Sarawak this year’. It was later established that the post first appeared in 2015 but has resurfaced lately. The website which supposedly carried with news article was also found to be non-existent.
