The 68-year-old Douglas, who is the son of former State Secretary during the Usno era, Tan Sri Richard Lind, said he hoped to resolve the issue pertaining to the Malaysia Agreement 1963, which is contentious among all political parties in Sabah and Sarawak.
Douglas, in support of Parti Warisan Sabah's agenda, also said that he believed the party manifesto will be achieved.
“This must be our top priority as it is part of nation building, especially in this New Malaysia era,” he said.
The continuity of parliamentary democracy and rule of law will also be ensured as they are the fundamental foundation of the country's development.
“Corruption is also another obstacle we need to overcome and I would like to see social justice among all Malaysians, including those in peninsular, Sabah and Sarawak,” he said.
