Ron Ng recalls early career in TVB, did not sleep for a whole week

-

HONG KONG: Actor Ron Ng, 38, has recalled his tortuous early days at TVB, when he once went without sleep for a whole week.

Ron was bantering with newsmen during celebrations to mark the wrapping of the filming for See You Again, Ladies’ Market.

With him was co-star Allie Liu.

Ron, who turns 39 next month, disclosed his birthday wish as: “More jobs, and more opportunities to make good productions.

“I wish to be able to work with many different actors, and of course, I wish for good health.”

After a short break, he is to begin filming the web drama Flying Tigers 2.

For the filming of Ladies’ Market, Annie complained that she developed a skin reaction to the searing weather.

Her heavy use of make-up made it worse. Added Annie: “We had to do a lot of night scenes for this film. My skin and my health were not in very good shape. I am usually an early riser and early sleeper, and I usually film during the day. I’m not used to this.”

Added Ron, joking about his days at TVB: “We all know that we’re not used to sleeping at TVB. ‘Sleeping’ had nothing to do with us. When we go home, we would only have time for a shower.”

What was his record for going without sleep?

Said Ron with a wince: “Seven days.”
