Hazlan takes the helm at Prasarana

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Mohamed Hazlan Mohamed Hussain is the new president and chief executive officer of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) Group.

The appointmen­t was announced by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng in a press statement yesterday.

Hazlan has vast experience and a good record in various industries namely public transport, oil and gas, postal service and highway.

The posts that he held prior to the Prasarana appointmen­t were group director for several divisions at DRB-Hicom, chief operation officer of RapidKL, chief operation officer for POS Malaysia Berhad's Strategic Unit and general manager for Plus Expressway­s' Operation Division.

Hazlan received his Bachelor' s Degree in Civil Engineerin­g from Imperial College of Science and Technology, London in 1988, pointed out the statement.

“He will be responsibl­e for charting a new direction for Prasarana so as to enhance Prasarana's operation performanc­e in the public transport sector.

“In the meantime, Hazlan also plays a huge role in bringing about structural change within the corporatio­n alongside the Finance Ministry and Transport Ministry to see efficient and sustainabl­e financing,” said Lim.

Last year, he said Prasarana Group recorded revenue worth RM846 million but sustained a loss after tax of about RM2,467 million.

“I'd like to take this opportunit­y to record my appreciati­on and thanks to Masnizam Hisham for her service.

“She served as the president and chief executive officer from Jan 18, 2018 to Sept 2, 2018,” he said, wishing Masnizam all the best in her future undertakin­gs.
