Students urged to use school programs for self improvemen­t

LAHAD DATU: Students have been urged to utilize programmes organized by their school to further enhance excellence in various fields.

Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environmen­t Minister Assafal P Alian said students should use learning opportunit­ies at the school to explore their potential.

Assafal said the programmes organized by the school would not only help the students to achieve excellent results but also excel in other aspects.

He said this was because the programmes could also motivate and stimulate the students.

“Achieving success is not an easy thing, students need to work hard to achieve the dream success.

“Therefore, students should utilize the opportunit­ies provided by school through the useful programmes,” he said when officiatin­g at the Perfect Score Programme organized by SM Sains Lahad Datu.

Assafal, who is also Tungku assemblyma­n in his speech, praised the hardwork of teachers and the school in organizing such a programme that could assist the students to achieve excellent results in the upcoming Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinatio­n.

He said SPM was important as it could serve as platform for the students to continue their studies at a higher level.

Therefore, he said students must strive to achieve excellent results to become excellent human being in the future in line with the government’s aim of producing human capital with first class minds.

Meanwhile, principal of SM Sains Lahad Datu, Norsiah Barne said the Perfect Score Programme is an annual programme that aims at helping students to achieve excellent results in SPM.

Norsiah said this programme also involved students from SMK Paris, SMK Tungku and SMK Agama Tun Sakaran.
