Stand-up comedians to perform in Labuan

-

LABUAN: The Malaysian Association of Chinese Comedians (MACC) is back with their brand new stand-up comedy for 2018.

The ninth show since a soldout debut in Kuala Lumpur back in 2010 will be held at Rusty Blade Bar, Red Onion here.

Entitled ‘Reset', the show is a nod to the current climate of Malaysia after the recent 14th general election.

Members of the MACC are Douglas Lim, Kuah Jenhan, Phoon Chi Ho and Dr Jason Leong.

Individually, they are some of the most recognized names in the local stand-up comedy scene, as they have performed solo shows both locally and abroad to critical acclaim.

Once a year, they band together and perform.

The MACC is promising 85 minutes of brand new comedy material.

Audiences can expect comedic observations, anecdotes, song parodies and unique insights from these four accomplished performers.

Besides Labuan, the comedians will also tour Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Penang, Johor and possibly Singapore this year.

The success of the MACC is mainly due to their camaraderie on-stage and distinctive comedy styles which all come together, resulting in an evening of laughter and reflection.

“As the stand-up comedy show in getting popular, we are glad to host the event, and looking forward to future event,” said Rusty Blade Bar general manager Zamrie Jeffrey to reporters yesterday.
