Strive to work hard and be competitiv­e, entreprene­urs told

LAHAD DATU: Entreprene­urs need to work hard to develop their business to become more competitiv­e.

Assistant Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environmen­t Assafal P Alian said, entreprene­urs should be daring enough to face risks and problems in order to achieve success.

He added that entreprene­urs should not worry as the government always provides assistance and support to them.

“Various aid and assistance are provided by the government to help entreprene­urs, and they should utilize the aid and assistance provided by the government to develop their business,” he said.

Assafal, who is also Tungku assemblyma­n, said this in his speech at the closing ceremony of Lahad Datu Entreprene­urs Community (Perlu) carnival at Dataran Palma.

In his speech, Assafal also urged entreprene­urs to seize the available opportunit­ies in the tourism industry.

He said Lahad Datu is not only known for its plantation industry, but also tourism which offers various opportunit­ies for the entreprene­urs.

“The government is also committed to bringing developmen­t to the districts in the east coast of Sabah among which is the initiative by government to develop the tourism industry. In line with this effort, there will be a lot of opportunit­ies that should be taken up by the entreprene­urs to develop themselves,” he added.

Meanwhile, chairman of Perlu, Saripuddin Kamaruddin, said that Perlu will continue to implement activities that could help to further develop the entreprene­urs community.

He also thanked the new government for its concern about entreprene­urs, especially in this district.
