Rotary Club of Kinabalu Sutera holds installation dinner
KOTA KINABALU: The Rotary Club of Kinabalu Sutera installed into office its new president, Francis Ng Seng Chee and his Board for the term 2018-2019 at its 18th Installation and 17th Anniversary Dinner held at Magellan Sutera Resort on August 18.
The dinner, which was graced by immediate past district 3310 governor Datuk Lee Chuen Wan as the guest of honour, was attended by about 100 members and guests, including members of the Rotary Club of Chung Li West.
The Taiwan-based Rotary Club of Chung Li West, led by its president Fan Chin Tung, is the sister club of the Rotary Club of Kinabalu Sutera.
Under the leadership of immediate past president Datin Betty Hiew, the club received the coveted Rotary Citation Award for the term 2017-2018.
The club successfully chaired the End Polio Charity Dinner, and was actively involved in the District’s other projects during the term.
In his presidential address, Francis said, “Rotary is about service and fellowship. When our hearts are geared towards these goals, we will be Rotarians at heart.”
In addition, he reminded the members to have the love of service towards the less fortunate, stressing that all members must first inspire themselves only then the stories of the Rotary Club can be shared in order to inspire others.
The club’s Board for the term 2018-2019 comprises Francis, president-elect and membership chair Alice Kunjan, vice president Hamit Harun, secretary Christina Aluda, treasurer and vocational service chair Paul Chong, public relations chair Richard A. Gontusan, club administration chair Emily Chong, community cum service projects chair Datuk Gabriel William, Rotary foundation chair Datin Betty Hiew, international service chair Judy Hiew, youth service chair Florence Kandilis, sergeant at arms Abu Bakar Sheriff, strategic planning chair Datuk Verus Aman Sham and auditor Fatimah Yassin.
