KENINGAU: A police report was lodged by Parti Warisan Sabah DUN. 32 Tambunan coordinator, Basal Bullah, against a man for spreading slanderous messages through the WhatsApp messaging application.

Bullah made the report at 10.30am yesterday together with a P. 180 Keningau Wira Warisan representative, after the person continued to spread libelous messages through the app. LAHAD DATU: A man in his 40s suffered serious injuries after he was attacked by a group of men in the quarters area at Felda Sahabat 45, on Saturday.

It is learnt that the victim, who was a plantation supervisor was attacked by his workers following an argument about 5 pm.

The victim was believed to have been hacked with a samurai sword and machete as the workers were not satisfied with their pay.

According to Bullah, he received a message from the individual in a WhatsApp group chat on September 29 around 6.10am, which was similar in nature to previous messages sent by the latter.

The messages were all slanderous and malicious, he said, intended to make Warisan and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Mohd Shafie Apdal look bad.

Following the attack, the victim suffered serious injuries on his head, back and his left hand. He was later taken to the hospital for further treatment.

District Police Chief ACP Nasri Mansor confirmed the incident and said that police had identified all the suspects.

Nasri added police were looking for all the suspects to assist in investigation under Section 326 of the Penal Code.

Bullah further said he responded to the messages but only to be added into another WhatsApp group named ‘Gergasi Gabungan Sabah’ by the individual.

In the report, Bullah urged police to take legal action against the person for spreading malicious messages, which Bullah said were false and can raise confusion, doubt, fear and hate towards Warisan.
