240 golfers sign up for Head of State Corporate Charity Cup

KOTA KINABALU: The fourth edition of the Head of State Corporate Charity Cup tournament has received overwhelmi­ng response.

Just three weeks after registrati­on opened, 60 teams of 240 golfers have confirmed their participat­ion in the fund-raising event taking place at the Sutera Harbour Marina, Golf & Country Club (SHMGCC) on October 13.

Chairman of the Nur Jauhar Foundation, Mej (K) Haji Al Hambra Tun Juhar, said the closing date is on October 8.

“The Corporate Golf Tournament will focus on the team entries with four golfers forming a team. The best three scores from each team will be counted as the score for the team.

“Tee-off times will be at 7.30am and 1pm via gunshot,” he said, while adding the tournament is jointly organised by the Foundation and Sutera Harbour Resort.

The main sponsors of the tournament are Hap Seng Consolidat­ed Berhad and Teck Guan Group. The rest of the sponsors include Affin Hwang Asset Management Berhad, Petronas, Sabah Energy Corporatio­n, Sounds Tech Production Sdn Bhd, F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd, 100Plus, Moma Water, Ultron, Gleneagles Kota Kinabalu, MAS Wings with Prestige as the official magazine and Hyatt Regency Kinabalu as the partnering hotel.

Al Hambra said the hole-inone prizes include Mercedes GLA 200 by Hap Seng Star Sdn Bhd, one exclusive Hublot watch sponsored by Hour Glass Malaysia and a Yamaha Golf Set worth RM16k sponsored by MST Golf and cash RM5,000.

“The tournament is held in conjunctio­n with the 65th official birthday celebratio­n of His Excellency Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Haji Juhar bin Datuk Haji Mahiruddin, who is the Patron of Yayasan Nur Jauhar and Sutera Harbour Marina, Golf & Country Club.

“After the golf tournament, it will be followed by a prize presentati­on gala dinner in the evening at the Grand Ballroom, The Magellan Sutera Resort,” he added.

To participat­e, companies or organisati­ons can make a donation with one of the exclusive HSCCC Donation Packages inclusive of corporate team golf tournament flights and dinner, namely Platinum Package (above RM25,000), Gold Package (above RM15,000), Silver Package (above RM10,000) and Bronze Package (above RM5,000).

For dinner only, they can opt for the Orchid Package (RM2,000).

“The donation raised will be used to carry out the Foundation’s charitable activities to help the needy, especially those who are less fortunate.

“Thanks to all who have confirmed their participat­ion as well as those who have made contributi­ons in the first edition of the event,” said Al Hambra.
