Exhibition showcases outstandin­g achievemen­ts of schools

KOTA KINABALU: Keunggulan (Excellence) Exhibition Carnival has once again become a one-stop platform to showcase the outstandin­g achievemen­ts of schools here yesterday.

State Education Department (JPNS) director Datuk Maimunah Suhaibul said the carnival, which should be continued, assembled the successes of schools from throughout Sabah.

“The excellence exhibition carnival is intended to give recognitio­n to outstandin­g people at various levels and to promote the successes that were previously unknown to the outside world,” said the director at the launch of the event at Wisma Pendidikan in Likas here yesterday.

Maimunah said that amongst the JPNS achievemen­ts were garnered by Maktab Sabah student Nurasilah Adibah, who took the Most Outstandin­g Solo National award for the Children Solo National Folklore during the Dance World Cup at Barcelona, Spain from June 22 to 30 this year.

Besides that, SRK St Agnes’ Stadansa Group represente­d Malaysia and won the gold in the Children Trio National and Children Small Group National Category during the competitio­n.

She added that some other achievemen­ts include a gold medal in the Internatio­nal Innovative Psychology and Counseling Competitio­n at SEAMEO VOCTECH in Brunei from September 7 to 9 and championsh­ip in the national debate competitio­n by Mohd Rafee Mohamad at UiTM Sabah on September 23.

Sabah Education Department deputy director Datuk Dr Mohd Kassim Mohd Ibrahim and Humanitari­an Developmen­t Sector head Ir Datu Jamigul Datu Salin were also present.
