The 37-year-old actor starred as Steve Rogers and his crime fighting alter-ego in the Marvel ensemble movie franchise, and took to Twitter on Thursday to reveal the fourth and of the series has officially wrapped filming.

Evans also shared an emotional note to his fellow cast mates — which include Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffallo as The Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow — as he confirmed the movie marks his final outing as Captain America, and said it was an “honour” to play the role for almost a decade.

Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honour. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful. Chris Evans, Captain America actor
