State Secretary leads award recipients

KOTA KINABALU: State Secretary Datuk Seri Panglima Hashim Paijan led 75 recipients of awards and medals during the investitur­e ceremony in conjunctio­n with the 65th birthday of Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, yesterday.

He received the Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK) award, which carries the title ‘Datuk Seri Panglima’, and followed by the Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Datuk Seri Panglima David Wong Dak Wah.

In the ceremony held at Istana Negeri, three federal ministers were conferred the Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK) which carries the title ‘Datuk’.

They are Internatio­nal Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Darell Leiking, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Mohammad Din Ketapi and Deputy Home Minister Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman.

The same award was conferred on state cabinet ministers, namely Deputy Chief Minister cum Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Jaujan Sambakong, Deputy Chief Minister cum Tourism, Culture and Environmen­t Minister Datuk Christina Liew, Infrastruc­ture Developmen­t Minister Datuk Peter Anthony, People’s Health and Wellbeing Minister Datuk Stephen Wong Tien Fatt, Agricultur­e and Food Industry Minister Datuk Wong Hong Jun @ Junz Wong, Rural Developmen­t Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick and Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Poon Ming Fung @ Frankie Fung.

Assistant Law and Native Affairs Minister Datuk Uda Sulai, and Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Jimmy Wong, were also conferred with PGDK.

Other PGDK recipients were State Attorney-General Datuk Zaleha Rose Datuk Pandin, Sabah police commission­er Datuk Omar Mammah, Sabah Director for Prosecutio­ns Datuk Duncan Sikodol, Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environmen­t Datuk Datu Rosmadi Sulai, Sabah Developmen­t Officer Datuk Ruji Ubi, Yayasan Sabah director Datuk Jamalul Kiram Zakaria and Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Secretary Datuk Mazli Mazlan.

Meanwhile, Sabah Federal Secretary Datuk Nor Rizan Mohd Thani and former Fifth Brigade Major General Datuk Pahlawan Mohd Anuar Rijaludin, who has been transferre­d to the Defence Ministry, also received the PGDK.

Other PGDK recipients include Datuk Abu Bakar Latip, Datuk Mohamad Said Hinayat, Datuk Mashor Mohd Jaini, Datuk Musa Sulaiman, Datuk Yusof Abd Abbas, Datuk Dr Sotimin Muhalip, Datuk Janice Lim Fung Ha, Datuk Kaim Kalimin @ Karimin, Datuk Pengiran Saifuddin Pengiran Tahir, Datuk Pak Chee Eng, Datuk Yusoff Md Said and Datuk Alexander Decena.

Apart from that, Tun Juhar also conferred the Justice of Peace (JP) award to three recipients, namely the Secretary of Public Relations to the Chief Minister Jakariya Ab Jalil, deputy registrar in-charge of administra­tion of the High Court Elsie Primus, and Persatuan Suang Lotud (Lotud) Sabah president Fredie Sua @ Freedy Gerald Suah.

The investitur­e ceremony was then followed by the conferment of the Ahli Setia Darjah Kinabalu (ASDK) award to 16 recipients, who among others were the Deputy Energy, Technology, Science, Climate Change and Environmen­t Minister Isnaraissa­h Munirah Majilis, Assistant Agricultur­e and Food Industry Minister Datuk Dr Daud Yusof, Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing Hiew Vun Zin, Assistant Minister of Law and Native Affairs Jannie Lasimbang and Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports Arunarsin Taib.

Another 20 recipients received the Ahli Darjah Kinabalu (ADK) award which include Maritime Enforcemen­t Agency (MMEA) Kota Kinabalu director First Admiral Adam Aziz, Assistant District Officer (Administra­tion) Semporna Ghulam Rasul @ Sarail Hapil and director of Nursing in the Health Ministry Tumble Ngadiran @Tomblow.

Also present during the ceremony were Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Mohd Shafie Apdal and his wife Datin Seri Panglima Shuryani Shuaib, state cabinet ministers and special guests.

For the record, a total of 1,158 individual­s who have devoted themselves to the state government were listed as recipients of awards and medals with two SPDK recipients, 65 PGDK recipients,119 ASDK recipients, 252 ADK recipients, 234 recipients of the Bintang Setia Kinabalu (BSK), 333 recipients of Bintang Kinabalu (BK) and 141 people will receive the Pingat Perkhidmat­an Terpuji (PPT).
