Deputy Human Resource Minister Datuk Mahfuz Omar said the six new working committees were, namely, the technical and vocational education training (TVET) governance, certification and accreditation, funding and training, TVET training quality improvement, strategic cooperation and promotional activities.

He said the new committees would be responsible in advising NSDC to ensure an effective TVET governance as well as harmonising TVET's ties with other regulatory bodies apart from establishing clear career path and designing sustainable training.

The committees would also be responsible to enhance the training mechanism, in line with industry's needs, to forge strategic collaboration between the government and the industry as well as the training centres, and TVET-related rebranding exercise, he said.

“The new committee will carry out its responsibilities in tandem with the existing two committees, namely, the technical standards committee and the skills evaluation and accreditation committee,” he said in a press conference after a meeting here yesterday.
