Warisan rubbishes Jeffrey’s ‘unseen hands’ insinuation

-

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah secretary general Loretto Padua Jr has rubbished the contention by Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) that Tan Sri Musa Aman can win his civil suit if there is no interference in the judicial system.

STAR president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Gapari Kitingan was referring to Musa's civil suit against the Yang DiPertua Negeri Sabah, Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Mohd Shafie bin Haji Apdal.

If Jeffrey suspects that there is an attempt by “unseen forces” to interfere with the suit, then by all means, he should lodge a report with the relevant authorities instead of making wild speculations just to gain sympathy and cast unpleasant remarks on the judiciary.

Is Jeffrey oblivious to the fact that the election petition made against Musa last month went against Parti Warisan Sabah?

Weren't other election petitions filed by Warisan also thrown out by the court? So, if we were to go by Jeffrey's contention, then there was “interference” in the Warisan cases, but we don't think so.

But now Jeffrey is speculating that there will be interference in this suit. Does he realise that he has mocked the judiciary with his unwarranted insinuation?

Perhaps he sensed that Musa was going to lose in this suit and was trying hard to shift public perception by making statements on fictitious “unseen hands” in the judiciary.

It is the easiest way for him to save himself and his new-found cohorts from further attacks by Gabungan Sabah members after he decided to form a partnership with Musa right after the GE14.

So come GE15, Jeffrey will use this “unseen hands” insinuation that he has made up and continue playing the broken record that what has been rightfully his was taken away.

“We all know that Jeffrey has been a speculator since the 90s and so now I offer him the perfect opportunity to tender his evidence on this uncalled for attack against the judiciary.”

“There is no reason for Sabahans to be worried or to be overly concerned with Jeffrey's speculation that Musa will return as the Chief Minister.”

Loretto said Musa was the Chief Minister for 15 years and during his regime, many were aware of the numerous accusations of abuse of power made against him.

“These ranged from the alleged issuance of citizenship to some 400,000 illegal immigrants as documented by Chong Eng Leong, timber kickbacks involving a certain Michael Chia, his reluctance to pursue MA63 in the Sabah State Assembly with his famous ‘Apa review review?' comment and many more.

“Hence, I understand well the feelings of Sabahans who do not want him to return as the Chief Minister, despite Jeffrey's desperate attempt to do so to the extent that he makes wild accusations,” Loretto said.

He said it might be comforting for all to remember that Musa no longer commands the majority whether in the Sabah State Assembly or the State.

In the meantime, allow the court do its job while Warisan-led government continues working hard to develop the State.

The Warisan-led government inherited a financially-troubled State, no thanks to Musa.
