Every action of District Council under magnifying glass — Darell
PENAMPANG: Newly installed Penampang District Council members were urged to work together with the management to overcome challenges arising in the social media world, said International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Darell Leiking.
Darell said the information technology development had put every action taken by the local authority under the modern society’s magnifying glass today.
“People are increasingly aware and informed of the role of local authorities as well as the facilities and services they should have. Therefore, I urge that the council members, in collaboration with the management of the Penampang District Council, to be united as a team to address the challenges and social media from time to time,” said Darell, whose speech was delivered by his political secretary Pritchard Gumbaris, at the Penampang District Council 2018-2020 swearing-in ceremony here yesterday.
“The cooperation of the Penampang District Council with other departments and agencies is also very important in implementing duties and functions of the council more effectively. Hopefully with this collaboration, it will enhance the government’s delivery system to the people and bring high-impact results that will not only impact the performance of the Penampang District Council but also to the departments and agencies involved,” he urged.
