-

KOTA KINABALU: Business owners and members of the public are invited to attend the Private Retirement Schemes (PRS) Talk this Saturday, October 27 at Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCCI) Hall Level 3.

The talk is jointly brought to you by Private Pension Administrator Malaysia (PPA) and RHB Asset Management Sdn Bhd and is organized by See Hua Group in collaboration with the Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCCI). We all know that saving for our retirement is important, but do we save enough to live in comfort amidst the rising cost of living and healthcare during our golden years? It is whilst we are gainfully employed that we should start saving for our retirement. In fact, one should start saving for their retirement as soon as one starts working. The ensuing question then is how much should I save for my retirement? What if I aspire to retire earlier than age 60 and how much would I need for my retirement income?

Chances are most of us do not know the answers to these questions, thus, the PRS Talk this Saturday from 2pm to 6pm is a must-go event for everyone to gain insights about retirement planning from the interesting topics that will be covered as well as take the chance to speak to the representatives from RHB Asset Management Sdn Bhd and PPA.

Husaini Hussin, CEO of PPA said: “It is very important for employers in the private sector to consider assisting their employees to save for their retirement. The collaboration with KKCCCI is beneficial as together, we can raise the awareness on the role that employers can play for their employees' retirement savings.”

He said employers can help to boost their employees' retirement savings through Corporate PRS by contributing directly to their employees' PRS accounts. They can also help make it easier for their employees to save with PRS via payroll deduction.

Husaini added that currently there are already 600 companies participating in Corporate PRS and they enjoy tax deduction of up to 19%.

As for the individual self-contributor, he or she would enjoy tax relief benefit of up to RM3,000. For Malaysians aged 20 to 30 years old, they can enjoy PRS Youth Incentive of RM1,000 when they contribute RM1,000 in their PRS savings. The RM1,000 PRS Youth Incentive is available until 31 December 2018.

The topic for the PRS is “Save More for Your Future with PRS” and it features speakers from PPA and RHB Asset Management.

During the talk, 10 participants would stand to receive RM200 PRS Treats in units. Those who sign up for PRS during the talk can also receive a surprise gift.
