MNC supports KDCA continuing as organiser of state-level Tadau Kaamatan

KOTA KINABALU: Momogun National Congress (MNC) president Datuk John Wanji Maluda said MNC fully supported KDCA to continue being the organisers for the state-level Tadau Kaamatan celebratio­n 2019 and onwards.

At the same time, Maluda also congratula­ted Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau for being appointed to chair the 2019 Tadau Kaamatan Main Organizing Committee.

Maluda was responding to an earlier media reports on a suggestion by the president of Persatuan Ethik Sonsogon Sabah (Pesosa) Jaibah Makaum that the task of organizing next year’s State-level Tadau Kaamatan be given KDM Malaysia further suggesting that KDM Malaysia could do a better job.

“MNC supports KDCA to continue being the State-level organizing body for the 2019 Tadau Kaamatan celebratio­n, and we congratula­tes Datuk Seri Madius Tangau for being appointed to lead next year’s Kaamatan MOC (Main Organising Committee),” Maluda said in a statement, adding that KDCA had establishe­d a network throughout the State be it through the District Office or KDCA branches.

“KDCA has many years of experience in organizing this very important cultural festival. KDCA also has lots of profession­als who had contribute­d to memorable Tadau Kaamatan events in the past,” Maluda added.

The MNC consisted of 11 bodies, namely Kadazan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Institute for Indigenous Economic Progress, Pertubuhan Pembanguna­n Wanita Desa Pantai Barat, Persatuan Kebudayaan Tatana Sabah, Rungus Cultural Associatio­n Sabah (RCA), Persatuan Kelahiran Murut Peribumi (BORNEO) Sabah, Persatuan Malim Gunung Kinabalu, Persatuan Penjaja dan Peniaga Pasar Besar Kota Kinabalu Sabah, Koperasi Towud Apin-Apin Keningau Berhad, Persatuan Tobilung Bersatu Sabah and Persatuan Keturunan Sonsogon Daerah Pitas.

Apart from the Institutio­nal Members, MNC also has Individual membership consisting of Momogun from various profession­al background­s.
