Smile for Peace charity food programme

KOTA KINABALU: Junior Chamber Internatio­nal (JCI) Tanjung Aru’s Smile for Peace has officially collaborat­ed with Qian Tang Fu Restaurant to provide free meals for the underprivi­leged elderly folks and children under its charity food programme.

This event will be organised monthly at Qian Tang Fu Restaurant.

“We must be socially responsibl­e to give back to the community. We thank JCI Tanjung Aru and Smile for Peace for giving us this opportunit­y to help the underprivi­leged. This is our long-term commitment towards Sabah,” said Qian Tang Fu Restaurant’s owner Donny Fu.

Smile for Peace is one of the flagship projects of JCI Tanjung Aru.

It focuses on creating sustainabl­e solutions to promote peace in the community. This project first gained recognitio­n when it won the Best Local Peace Project at the JCI Malaysia Annual National Convention in 2017, following which it won the 2018 JCI Asia-Pacific Best Local Peace Project.

Organizing chairperso­n Guah Chin Yong expressed her wish that more corporate stakeholde­rs can follow the example of Qian Tang Fu Restaurant and contribute back to the local community.
