I will return with success in Sepang – Adam

SEPANG: National Moto3 rider Adam Norrodin is determined to return to the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) with success and climb the podium after finishing 23rd in the 2018 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix race yesterday.

Adam, 20, who represented Petronas Sprinta Racing this season, would join the Youth Championship in Spain (CEV) in the Moto2 class starting in the 2019 season. He finished his race in a time of 40 minutes 12.186 seconds.

“I am grateful god for giving me the spirit and ability to race because, honestly, I was too tired. Yesterday was a tough day for me and this was compounded by the fact that I was forced to start from the pit lane.

“Many times I was close to the podium ... I pushed really hard and did not care what would happen. With three more rounds to go I could not feel my left hand because I had pushed hard from the beginning. I also did not expect to crash,” he told reporters here yesterday.

At yesterday’s race, the Johorborn rider had the chance to climb the podium when he demonstrated a perfect ride to catch up until at one moment he was in seventh place.

However, in the 15th round, Adam, who was in 13th spot, crashed after failing to control his motorcycle. He was allowed to resume the race but it was impossible for Adam to finish the race in the best position.

“I hope I can go up the podium in future. I will not surrender. One day I will come back here to achieve what I wanted all these while, “he added.

Meanwhile, Jorge Martin of the Del Conca Gresini Moto3 team, who started the race in pole position, topped his Moto3’s rivals by winning his first world championship.

Two Italian riders from Leopard Racing, Lorenzo Dalla Porta and Enea Bastianini had to settle for second and third place. - Bernama
