Taiwan skincare brand, Falla, to expand to Malaysian markets
KOTA KINABALU: Taiwan skincare brand, Falla, is set to expand into the Malaysian market with its Topiclear and halalcertified Topgel product lines.
CBSI Falla Sdn Bhd managing director, Datin Dona Chuan, said she hoped to educate women on using the right skincare for their skin conditions.
During her four and a half years stay in Taiwan, Chuan said she had the opportunity to learn about the thriving beauty and skincare industry.
“The beauty and skincare industry in Taiwan is worth USD 1.1 billion,” she noted.
She added that there were about 1,000 skincare manufacturers in Taiwan but only 10 percent obtained the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification.
Falla, she said, produces good quality and affordable skincare products.
“Our aim is not just to push the products to make profits, we want to educate women about using the right skincare to help their skin conditions,” Chuan said at the pre-launch of Topiclear and Topgel here yesterday.
She said the products were currently sold via the company’s representatives in Sabah but a physical store would be set up in the future.
Meanwhile, Falla Taiwan chief executive officer Eric Pang said, Topiclear and Topgel products are manufactured in Taiwan, while Topgel has also obtained halal certification.
He said the skincare lines were currently being marketed in Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Thailand.
“We obtained approval for Topiclear and Topgel from the Ministry of Health, Malaysia in May this year,” he disclosed.
He added that the company would be penetrating the main cities nationwide.
Meanwhile, Falla Taiwan business development director Helen Lee said that the company uses plant extracts as the ingredients for the skincare products.
The Topiclear product line includes oxygen cleanser, energizing mist, hydration essence, revitalize moisturizer, beauty cream and face masks, whereas the Topgel line comprises hydrating cleaning gel, serum, eye gel and pearl cream.
