KUALA LUMPUR: The Bumiputera Education Leadership Foundation (Yayasan Peneraju) is offering about 7,000 education and training financing opportunities for the young generation next year, said its chief executive, Raja Azura Raja Mahayuddin.

She said the financing included certifications in fields related to technology and professional acreditation programme for accounting and finance.

“The financing also encompassed a new programme which is known as “Khaira Ummah” and also ‘Super High Income Programme’ to boost the number of Bumiputera who could reap incomes of up to RM20,000 a month in selected fields,” she said in a statement here yesterday.

During the tabling of the 2019 Budget on Friday, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng announced an allocation of RM210 million to empower Bumiputra education and development through programmes handled by Yayasan Peneraju.

Raja Azura said the foundation lauded the announcement of the allocation because the effort was set to see Malaysians continued to be given equal opportunity to improve and boost their standard of living.

“We are pleased and honoured that the government continues to focus on empowering the lower income group. We are committed to strengthening the Bumiputera economy in line with the government’s mandate to empower the field of education and human capital.

“We will double efforts to enhance their skills, knowledge, commitment and competitiveness to create success and enjoy a brighter future,” he said.
