Kota Marudu squad to hold tryouts for KDMM League

-

KOTA KINABALU: KDM Malaysia Kota Marudu will be holding an open selection trial at the district council field on November 11 and 18.

Aspiring footballers from around the district who wish to don the KDMM Kota Marudu jersey are urged to turn up to try their luck.

The selection trial is aimed at preparing KDMM Kota Marudu for the Malaysia Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (KDMM) Football League Tournament 2019 and the KDMM Cup Carnival Tournament which will be held during the Charity Cup match at the Keningau Stadium on December 8.

The KDMM Cup Carnival Tournament is a warm up for teams before they take part in the KDMM League, which is scheduled to kick off in January.

A member of the KDMM Kota Marudu selection committee, Bandly Tuyundo, said the trial on November 11 will be from 7am to 12pm, while on November 18 it will be from 2pm to 6pm.

Candidates attending the trial must not be contracted with any of the state teams such as the Under-19 and President’s Cup squads. They must also possess a MyKad or passport and be at least 15 years old.

“Candidates should turn up with complete football attire and bring a photocopy of their MyKad or passport,” Bandly said.

For the record, Kota Marudu concluded sixth among 15 teams at the previous edition of the KDMM League 2014-2015.
