Borneo Magic Festival today

KOTA KINABALU: A delegation from the Borneo Magic Festival 2018 Organising Committee paid a courtesy call on Deputy Chief Minister cum Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environmen­t, Datuk Christina Liew to invite her to grace the first and biggest Magic Illusion Show in Kota Kinabalu.

It will be held today at the Yayasan Sabah Tun Ahmad Raffae Auditorium in Kota Kinabalu from 6.30pm to 9pm.

The festival is organised by MADS Imaginatio­n and endorsed by the ministry.

Christina said the event is yet another platform to showcase Sabah’s talents while urging the public, especially young people, to support the show.

It will feature Kevin Lee, the illusionis­t; Samuel Ng, a magician; John Ten, the dove artist; Izzat Dzid, the street magician; Yvone Wong, the mask changer; Ida Wong, an internatio­nal talented kid magician and Liaw Chen Wei, the youngest ballet magician.

Ng, who is the Borneo Magic Festival 2018 Organising Chairman, Ten and Izzat performed some magic tricks for the entertainm­ent of the ministry’s staff during the courtesy call.

“I am glad to note that part of the proceeds will go towards charitable causes,” the minister said.

The show is in aid of Bukit Harapan Children’s Home and the Keningau Hospital Dialysis Centre.

The festival is presented by Life Water Industries Sdn Bhd which produces K2 drinking water.

Its Executive Director Chin Lee Ling said the company was sponsoring the event.

Also present were Life Water Marketing Supervisor Kay Chu Choy Kay and entertainm­ent businessma­n Ken Wom, a supporter of the show.
