Inanam to hold trials for KDMM squad
KOTA KINABALU: KDMM Inanam will be hosting an open selection trial this weekend to select players for its football team.
The selection trial will be held at Universiti Malaysia Sabah Field C. Aspiring footballers, especially from Inanam, are invited to join the trials.
The trial is aimed at preparing KDMM Inanam for the Malaysia Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (KDMM) Football League 2019 and also the KDMM Cup Football Carnival Tournament which will be held during the Charity Cup match at the Keningau Stadium on December 8.
The KDMM Cup Football Carnival is meant as a warm up tournament before the teams compete in the KDMM League scheduled to kick off in January.
According to Inanam assemblyman Kenny Chua, the selection trial will be held from 2pm to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Only candidates who are not contracted with any of the state football teams are eligible to join the team and tournament.
Candidates must also posses a MyKad or passport and be at least 15 years old.
“Those who wish to try their luck are urged to turn up early with complete football gear and a photostat copy of their MyKad or passport,” said Kenny.
For the record, KDMM Inanam finished 10th among 15 participating teams at the previous KDMM League in 20142015.
