Boston Auto launches new 2019 Ford Ranger
SANDAKAN: Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) has officially appointed Boston Auto Sdn Bhd as an authorized 3S Sales and Service Dealer to continue serving the Sandakan market.
In conjunction with this appointment, Boston Auto Sdn Bhd has given the privilege to launch the New 2019 Ford Ranger facelift range in Sandakan – it’s the second upgrade for the T6, the first being back in 2015, but this revision looks to be more comprehensive, introducing a new powertrain and transmission as part of its package update.
The local Ranger line-up will consist of the five core models – four being High Rider regulation units, the XL, XLT, Wildtrak and a new XLT Plus variant.
Pricing Range from 2.2L Single Cabin with RM96,388 to the highest range of 2.0L Bi-turbo with 10speed automatic transmission Ranger Wildtrak on the pricing of RM150,388.
Our latest Ranger new variant the XLT+(XLT PLUS), equiped in all new 2.0L Si-Turbo single turbo form, where it pushes out 180 PS and 420 Nm of torque from 1,750 to 2,500 rpm. The XLT+ is only available in automatic guise, and here, the new engine also gets a fresh partnering transmission, a 10-speed automatic gearbox with SelectShift manual override. XLT PLUS price range starting from RM 130,388.
Next is the Wildtrak, which drops the 3.2 litre previously seen up to the first facelift. The Wildtrak comes with two options. The first is a 2.0L Wildtrak 4×2, equipped with the above-mentioned 2.0L SiTurbo engine. Price for Wildtrak 4x2 starting fromRM140,388.
Our top model in the Rangers range is the 2.0L Wildtrak 4×4, which gets the EcoBlue Bi-Turbo unit. Here, the unit offers 213 PS and 500 Nm of torque. Our Wildtrak now are equipped with the first and only in-class 10-speed transmission in a pickup truck on current market.
For enhancement safety features, the 2018 Ranger facelift brings some new toys to the truck segment – it’s the first in class to offer forward collision warning (audible warning, pre-charges the brakes and prepares brake assist), autonomous emergency braking (AEB detects pedestrians and vehicles in front, will auto brake if no action is taken), lane departure warning (vibrates steering, with lane keeping aid) and adaptive cruise control.
Also unique to the class are semiautomatic parallel parking (scans for spots, steers itself), though all these are only available in the 2.0L Wildtrak 4×4.
Elsewhere, the Ranger also now comes with an Easy Lift Tailgate, which incorporates a torsion bar to make lifting and lowering the tailgate easier.
At the launch, SDAC announced that all new Ranger customers who register their vehicle before January 31, 2019 will get a two-year or 40,000 km free maintenance package.
It added that the first 888 buyers who register their Ranger – up to December 31 – will receive an electrical goods voucher worth RM1,000.
