KOTA KINABALU: Safa Penampang, headed by newlyelected president Batholomew Jingulam, welcome the organising of more football tournaments in the district.

Sabah Football Association (Safa) Penampang re-elected secretary Presley Anthony said this after the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) yesterday.

However, he stressed that any tournament organised in the district must be sanctioned by Safa Penampang before the tournament can proceed.

Presley added that more tournaments would be organised in the near future specifically for age group categories for children and women.

He hoped that tournaments for veterans would also continue.

"This is so no one would be left out when it comes to football in the district," he said.

Meanwhile, Presley said Bartholomew wanted to see more representation at the State level from Penampang.

"He wants to see more people from Penampang to represent the State. Hopefully, all of us in the committee can make this vision a reality during our term," he said.

He said football clinics, coaching courses and courses for referees would also be on the agenda of the newly elected committee.

He hoped all those in the district who were interested in football would contribute in their own way.

"Safa Penampang welcome any effort and contribution on their part," Presley said.

Towards this end, he said anyone who wanted to organise football tournaments in the district can contact him on the issue of sanction or any other football related matter.
