Mom lodges reports against coach for alleged psychological stress

SIBU: The mother of a 14-yearold national volleyball player has lodged two police reports against a coach for allegedly causing her daughter psychological stress.

The first report was lodged on Sunday afternoon and the second, yesterday afternoon.

In the first report, the mother said her two daughters returned home about 1.30pm, visibly scared, with the 14-year-old soaking wet.

The daughter was said to have told her mother that a coach splashed warm water at her during a volleyball training in Rajang Park Volleyball Stadium before the eyes of other coaches and players.

The 14-year-old also told her mother that the same coach has been scolding her for no apparent reason for more than a year.

The mother also claimed that the coach used to scold her 16year-old daughter though not as severely as the 14-year-old.

“He put so much stress on my daughters. They train in fear of making mistakes but continued training for they love volleyball,” the mother pointed out.

In her second police report, the mother said she took her two daughters to see a psychologist on Nov 11 at about 9pm when they were seemingly emotionally stressed, allegedly caused by the coach.

She said her two daughters had started to shun school and volleyball training.
