KWAP unveils improved version of MyPesara
KUALA LUMPUR: The Retirement Fund Incorporated (KWAP) yesterday unveiled a new and improved version of the MyPesara smartphone application, which will enable users to access a variety of new functions.
KWAP Strategy and Corporate Performance Department director Ismail Zakaria said the updated application would allow users to avail financial management and health services as well as benefits from participating merchants.
“The application currently has 58,000 users, expected to increase to 60,000 users by the end of this year, and we hope to double the number in 2019,” he said during a press conference to introduce the second version of the application here.
Earlier, KWAP chief executive officer Syed Hamadah Othman held a briefing to introduce the applications new functionalities.
Also introduced at the event were the various participating merchants in the benefits programme, namely Credit Counselling and Management Agency (AKPK), Alpro Pharmacy, Celcom, Domino’s Pizza, Grab Malaysia, Hire, Senior, KPJ Healthshoppe, KPJ Sentosa, Mydin and Mynews.com.
Ismail said through the benefits programme, consumers could get coupons and discounts on food, health products, travel, and other products.
He said KWAP would also work on increasing the number of participating merchants including a bookstore chain and pharmaceutical company.
Ismail said although the application focused on government pensioners aged between 60 to 70 years as the targeted users, it can be use by all individuals including family members and caretakers of pensioners, as well as active government servants.
Among the other new functions of the application are an emergency button for pensioners to inform family members of their location, as well as a mobile medical record keeper to monitor daily intake of water, glucose levels, medication, as well as blood pressure levels.
“The app with all the new functionalities will be available for download beginning Nov 22,” he said. - Bernama
