USIM forges collaborations with four Asian Islamic institutions
NILAI: Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) yesterday signed MoUs with four educational institutions in Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines to further strengthen its network of international cooperation.
USIM was represented by Vice Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Musa Ahmad while Madrasah Ahmadiah, Indonesia was represented by Principal Ahmad Lutfi Samae; Mindanao State University, Philippines by Vice-Chancellor of Administration and Finance, Atty Saaduddin Masacal Alauya, and Fathoni University, Thailand, by Student Development Division Deputy Rector Dr Abdullah Uma.
USIM also signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and MoU with Universitas Darussalam (UNIDA), Indonesia, represented by its Rector Prof Dr Amal Fathullah Zarkasyi.
The signing of the MoUs was witnessed by Negeri Sembilan State Assembly speaker Zulkefly Mohamad Omar, USIM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) Prof Dr Abdul Rahim Abdul Rahman and USIM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Prof Datuk Dr Roshada Hashim.
Musa, when met by Bernama after the event, said the MoUs were aimed at establishing cooperation in terms of training programmes, research and development projects, staff and student exchanges as well as other collaborations.
"Under the training programme, we have placed staff in Indonesia to exchange ideas and work experiences, and will next head to Thailand and the Philippines.”
