‘Hammer attack’ Jiang Jinfu under arrest, to cooperate

TOKYO: Actor Jiang Jinfu, accused of attacking his girlfriend with a hammer and causing her to suffer a miscarriage, is under arrest.

A statement issued by his publicists said he is willing to cooperate with policemen in Japan who are investigating the case.

His publicists’ statement read: “Currently, Jiang Jinfu has taken the initiative to get in touch with the Japanese police and will cooperate with the investigation. Before the results of the investigation come out, please do not circulate any rumours.”

Xuan-Yuan has issued an official apology after his girlfriend, Japanese model Haruka Nakaura posted messages and photos online on the alleged physical abuse. Jiang had allegedly attacked her with a hammer and kicked her stomach, which led to a miscarriage.

Recounting the horror of the attacks, Nakaura said during an interview on Japanese TV: “The house was full of blood. When he got tired of hitting me, he would use his legs. I thought I was going to be killed. He knocked out two of my teeth. On the bad days, he would even use a hammer.”

Unable to withstand Jiang’s violence, Nakaura lodged a police report. She was rushed to the hospital and underwent treatment for about a month.

As for Jiang’s arrest, Nakaura told reporters that she is not interested in his money or any monetary compensation. All she wants is for Jiang to be prosecuted.
