-

KOTA KINABALU: Liberal Democratic Party’s (LDP) Public Complaints Bureau chief Dexter Lim has urged the public to come forward and lodge their complaints on corruption and power abuse with the bureau to help the government put a stop to any misuse of power.

He said the party recently set up the Public Complaints Bureau in pursuit of its constitutional objective to eliminate corruption in all forms in the government and to ensure the establishment of a government that is fully accountable to the people.

The two meetings held on November 17 and 24 this year in the process of setting up the bureau saw party president Datuk Chin Su Phin announced the appointment of Lim as the bureau chief. Lim would be assisted by his committee members, Joshua Ng Kwan Loong, Alex Chee Kim Heng and Sim Fui.

Since then, Lim said he had discussed with Chin, who is also the advisory board chairman, on the areas and form of public interest where LDP could help the government to eradicate corruption or all means of abuse of power.

“The Public Complaints Bureau’s main objective is to assist the public to liaise with the local authorities to improve certain bureaucratic process, an example being the treatment in the process of applying for trading licences,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He said the bureau would operate in the west coast and Sandakan areas where the public could lodge their complaints accordingly.

Lim added that LDP deputy president Datuk Lim Ming Hoo would be leading the Sandakan area whilst the bureau would receive complaints in the west coast area.

“We believe the public should come forward and put in their complaints to help the government put a stop on the misuse of power and hopefully to pull the system back onto the right track.”

If the public has any information or complaints, kindly lodge the complaints to its head office at second Floor, No. B10-3 & B11-3, Kepayan Perdana, Off Jalan Lintas Kepayan, 88200 Kota Kinabalu; or via post to Liberal Democratic Party P.
