Minister gets calf carcass, death threat

-

KUALA LUMPUR: A carcass of a calf, together with a death threat, was delivered to Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Salahuddin Ayub on Sunday (Dec 2).

His deputy, Sim Tze Tzin, confirmed this in Parliament yesterday (Dec 6).

He said that the Ministry is now awaiting the Inspector-General of Police’s announcement on the investigation’s findings.

Sim, who said the incident had taken place at an Amanah service centre in Simpang Jeram, Johor, said a police report was lodged as soon as the carcass and the note was discovered.

“We Pakatan Harapan MPs will not be shaken by such threats.

“Datuk Salahuddin has informed me that he will continue to do his duty for the people is not shaken at all by the incident,” he said.

Sim added that his Ministry condemned such dirty tactics and will not entertain individuals or groups who try to blackmail government officials or even Cabinet ministers.

Meanwhile, Amanah vicechairman Datuk Mahfuz Omar said the incident was regrettable, as Pakatan Harapan MPs have always been open.

“When there are problems, we are always ready to meet and talk things out instead of resorting to the politics of making threats in the country,” he said.

“We are leaving this now to the police to take action.”
