Timberlake postpones tour over bruised vocal cords
LOS ANGELES: Justin Timberlake’s Man of the Woods tour has been shut down due to his ongoing vocal cord issues.
The superstar singer had postponed a string of dates in recent weeks, as he tried to rehabilitate his troublesome throat.
However, the worst was confirmed by a spokesperson on Wednesday and, later, in a social media post that Timberlake is on the mend, but he’s not there yet and, on doctor’s orders, he won’t be able to perform again until the New Year.
“Hey guys, I’m sure you have heard that I’ve had to postpone several tour dates due to bruised vocal cords,” he writes. “My vocal cords are healing, but they are not all the way back to normal yet, so my doctors want me to continue to rest my voice.

I’m really sorry, I want to be back on the stage and I’m doing all I can to get there quickly.” Timberlake’s North America tour, in support of his fifth studio album, which opened at number one on the Billboard 200 back in February, is booked solid between now and mid-March. The Live Nation-produced tour hit the wobbles in late October, when Timberlake nixed a show at Madison Square Garden in New York, after the artist informed fans that “my vocal cords are severely bruised... I’m gonna make this up to you.” Other postponements followed, including dates in Buffalo, Tacoma, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Fresno, Portland and Wednesday night in Oakland.
