Cho wins Sutera Harbour Bi-Monthly Medal golf tournament

KOTA KINABALU: Cho Han Jin won in the Sutera Harbour Bi-Monthly Medal Golf Tournament for December at the Sutera Harbour Marina, Golf and Country Club (SHMGCC) on Saturday.

The Korean-born golfer played 78 to clinch the men’s Gross category title by beating Benedict Wong and Jauteh Dikun who carded 84 and 91 respective­ly.

The women’s Gross top three were dominated by Korean-born golfers where Lee Myung won with 86 followed by Kim Kyung Mi who eded Naomi Shin Sung Ja On Countback (OCB) after they finished with identical scores of 90. In the Nett category, Timothy Lai won the Medal A with 74 followed by John Ericson with 76 and Mohd Safian Saludi with 79.

The top three in the Medal B were Mohd Helmi Hafifudin with 74 nett while Mikail Abdullah with 75 nett and Wong Moi with 77 nett settled for second and third place respective­ly.

Another Korean-born golfer, Shin Seong Hyeo, also emerged as among the winners when he carded 65 nett to win the Medal C. Mohd Jamil Hussin with 66 nett and Abas Tuah with 74 nett were second and third.

The women’s Nett category saw Han Young Hee also of Korea came out top with 69 nett while the second placing went ton fellow Korean Won Kyeong Seon with 70 and Olivia Lim with 73 nett.

In the Senior category, the Joseph Loi Su won with 66 nett with Tatsumi Koreeda in second placing after OCB, beating Lee Il Ku into the third placing after both played 73 nett.

The top three in the Super Senior category were Hiew Seng Fong with 65 nett, Saludin Salam with 67 nett and Han Hock Hua with 68 nett.
