Promenade Hotel brings Christmas cheer

-

KOTA KINABALU: Christmas came early for 12 residents and five caretakers of Rumah Bakti Harapan, Inanam as they had an afternoon filled with joy, laughter and a hearty meal that made their stomachs smile with glee.

They were also surprised by Santarina’s presence who distributed Christmas goodies.

“Besides our monthly visits throughout the year, we’ve been organising this festive lunch on an annual basis to celebrate Christmas with residents of this home. We’re happy to be able to regularly spend time with them throughout the year ever since the hotel adopted them in Year 2001,” said Anita Chung, the hotel’s group director of sales and marketing.

As part of the hotel’s corporate social responsibilities to aid those in need, the hotel has been undertaking the responsibility of absorbing the home’s utility bills and frequently contributing sundry goods for its monthly consumption and clothes during scheduled visits throughout the year.

The home shelters mentally and physically challenged residents, with ages ranging from 19 to 45.

Ginantar Balud, president of the home, gladly welcomes any form of contributions as the home depends on these contributions from the general public for its daily operational needs.
