Michelle Yeoh, Max Zhang bruised in fight scenes for ‘Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy’

-

HONG KONG: If Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh had temporarily forgotten what character she’s portraying, Constance Wu would have got whacked during the filming of Crazy Rich Asians.

Michelle has suffered serious bruises during the filming of Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy.

These came not during fight scenes not with Constance, but with martial arts actor Max Zhang.

Michelle, 56, still has what it takes to whack someone for the cameras.

Max was not surprised by Michelle’s professionalism.

Said a slack-jawed Max: “Michelle moves her weapons very quickly and my ears would often times ring – especially when the weapons were coming straight for my head. They were all very close calls. Tony Jaa’s movements were really quick and swift – his fight scenes with Dave Bautista were full of power.”

Max explained that due to nature of the costumes, Michelle was unable to use any type of padding when doing the fight scenes.

Max was impressed by Michelle’s ability to withstand pain. He reckoned that over the past 20 years, her stamina has not waned.

Like Michelle, Max suffered bruises.

Donnie Yen makes a cameo also appearance in a short flashback scene in which Cheung Tin Chi fights Ip Man.

Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy has just premiered across China.
