STB wins BrandLaureate Industry Champion ICON Awards 2018
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s 2018 BrandLaureate Industry Champion ICON Awards 2018 Destination Branding - Tourism win elevated Malaysia higher globally, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Christina Liew.
Christina said Sabah Tourism Board (STB) had brought the Asia Pacific Brands Foundation (APBF) award last month in November.
“My ministry is very pleased and proud of this award and recognition by the prestigious body such as The BrandLaureate,” she said during the BrandLaureate Industry Champion ICON Awards 2018 press conference held by STB here yesterday.
“We believe STB was chosen for maintaining brand health and vitality of Sabah as a tourism destination to the world, thus making the country looks exceptionally well for tourism,” she added.
The BrandLaureate Brand ICON Leadership Award 2018 organized by Asia Pacific Brands Foundation is an award dedicated to ICONS that have contributed significantly to the development of the nation and their respective industries.
These ICONS are both esteemed individuals and respected corporations.
The exclusive Award was reserved for brands that exemplify the theme of the Award, Capitalize Your Leadership to Crystallize Your Brand.
The APBF acknowledges the importance of leadership in developing successful businesses and brands and how these brands impact communities with their positive attributes and values.
In the corporation segment, the STB was awarded The BrandLaureate Industry Champion ICON Awards 2018 Destination Branding Tourism.
The STB received the Award on November 26 at The Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
