Incentives for KK ratepayers

KOTA KINABALU: Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) will organise an “Assessment Rate Payment Campaign” between January 1 and March 3.

Newly minted Mayor Datuk Haji Nordin Siman disclosed that City Hall would provide various incentives to ratepayers throughout the campaign period.

“DBKK offers five percent rebate for the one-off payment for the whole fee of the 2019 annual assessment rate and for the cumulative arrears, a discount of 100 percent on the principal amount and 75 percent on the interest sum,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Nordin, whose announceme­nt recently of DBKK’s decision to maintain the assessment rates for this year, said City Hall’s payment counters would be open each day including on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the three-month assessment rate campaign drives.

In another related developmen­t, DBKK has decided to provide payment counters for business permit renewal fee payments at City Hall headquarte­rs and at its Centre Point Sabah office here as well as at UTC Complex in Sembulan.

DBKK’s public relations and complaint department director, Lizawana Matin, said the payment counters at those venues had been in operation daily including the weekends since December 2018 and until March this year.

City Hall’s daily mobile payment counters at Dewan Damai and Lido Town would be operationa­l until January, she said, and reminded the holders to bring along the original copy when applying for the renewal of trading licences.
