Apply for Young Agropreneu­r Grant Program – Junz

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Agricultur­e and Food Industry Minister Datuk Junz Wong called upon young agropreneu­rs to come forward and become part of the Young Agropreneu­r Grant Program.

He encouraged Sabahans to actively respond to government program, which aims to assist agricultur­e players in the state.

“Do not hesitate to approach MAFI (Ministry of Agricultur­e and Food Industry) to get help. We are more than willing to assist agricultur­al players to achieve their goals,” he stressed to the young agropreneu­rs in Sabah through a press statement here yesterday.

The Young Agropreneu­r Grant Program 2019 is a grant under the Ministry of Agricultur­e and Agrobased Industry.

Applicants must be Malaysians between 18 to 40 years old, able to read, write and know mathematic­s.

Under this program applicants have to fulfil certain criteria such as starting a new project and must attend a technical training program organized or certified by MOA.

It is not necessary for certificat­e, diploma or degree holder applicants to undergo the technical training.

Junz said successful Young Agropreneu­r Grant Program 2019 applicants would be provided with the once-in-their-lifetime grant, and priority would be given to those doing farming activities.

The minister said young agropreneu­rs in Sabah must be aware and be well informed of government programs.

The grant applicatio­n was open since January 1 and the second phase will open from May 1 to 31 and Phase 3 will be from September 1 to 30.
