KOTA KINABALU: Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) and Kota Bumi Sdn Bhd launched the Volkswagen Kota Bumi 3S centre located in Inanam, near here yesterday.

Located at one of the automotive hubs in the area, the Volkswagen 3S centre aims to cater and serve Volkswagen owners in the region such as Inanam, Manggatal, Lintas, Kolombong, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Sepanggar.

It is the only authorized Volkswagen dealership in Sabah, and brings the total of Volkswagen 3S centres to 18, nationwide.

VPCM managing director Erik Winter is confident that the launch of the new Volkswagen Kota Bumi 3S centre would elevate Sabah as a key market in East Malaysia as it would provide better accessibility to owning a Volkswagen in the State.

“With this 3S centre, we believe that Kota Bumi Sdn Bhd will provide ease and convenience to the local community as well as enhance ownership experience for Sabahan Volkswagen owners.”

He said VPCM's partnership with Kota Bumi Sdn Bhd started in December 2016 and the latter had demonstrated its commitment to the brand with its investment to upgrade and relocate to the new fully-equipped outlet.

“This is a testament of the company's dedication to the Volkswagen brand.

“With the launch of the new 3S centre, I am confident Sabah will be a key market in East Malaysia as there is now better accessibility to own a Volkswagen in the State,” he said at the grand opening.

Winter added that Volkswagen is currently offering a two-year free maintenance, a five-year manufacturer warranty and a five-year roadside assistance.

Meawhile, Kota Bumi Sdn Bhd dealer principal Carlwin Yee expressed the company's commitment to ensure a positive ownership experience for Volkswagen customers in Sabah.

“We started as a 2S service centre but we saw a rise in the demand for Volkswagen cars, and we took the opportunity to further expand and build the Volkswagen brand here in the region.

“We also relocated to a new and strategic area to cater to this demand, and to better serve our existing customers.”

Volkswagen Kota Bumi is a one-stop centre for Volkswagen owners in Sabah as it provides sales and aftersales services, including diagnosis, repairs and maintenance services. Spanning over three floors, the showroom is able to display two cars, while the aftersales area has four service bays manned by three experienced aftersales staff, capable of servicing up to 16 cars daily.

Other services offered here include insurance and vehicle trade-ins, road tax renewal, engine overhaul and 24 hours' breakdown assistance.

As an added value service, the 3S Centre also provides pick-up and delivery services to customers (upon request), as well as free car wash.

Volkswagen Kota Bumi 3S Centre operates from Monday to Saturday from 8:30am to 5:30pm. It is closed on Sundays.
