Sabah opposition leaders lack perseverance – Darell

-

SHAH ALAM: Some opposition politicians in Sabah who were vocal in criticising Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) earlier were described as weaklings and lack perseverance as they are now willing to use the back door to join the PH government, said deputy Warisan president Datuk Darell Leiking.

He said this group of politicians who had earlier insulted and shamed PH and Warisan now admitted the present government is their top choice.

“For me, they are not as perseverant as us (Warisan) as a strong opposition before the 14th general election.

“We were in the opposition for quite long but we were able to hold to our principles despite many invitations to join the government,” said Darell who is the International Trade and Industry Minister at a media conference after paying a courtesy call on Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari to discuss issues relating to investment at Selangor state level here yesterday.

He was commenting on the move by a handful of Sabah opposition party leaders to join Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) which spread its wings to the state recently.

In this regard, Darell who is Penampang MP said the action of Bersatu to expand to Sabah had been explained by Sabah Chief Minister cum Warisan president, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal. - Bernama
