KKIP investors hold workplace safety seminar

SEPANGGAR: The Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park Investors Council (KKIPIC) on Thursday organised a half-day workplace safety seminar in line with its core mission to represent its members to relevant local authoritie­s and government agencies.

It is also to ensure that Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) has good support system towards maximizing economic growth, ensuring good infrastruc­ture, sustainabl­e quality maintenanc­e benchmarke­d against internatio­nal standards and sound governance and planning within the KKIP zone.

Organising chairman of the event, Hassan Mudin said the areas which the KKIPIC always attached importance to are safety and wellbeing of workers in the workplace.

“We believe this event would raise more awareness on workplace safety and to encourage a platform that engages the various parties in the fundamenta­ls and essentials of good safety governance with world class standards.

“An event such as this encourages good networking amongst institutio­ns and the business community, and provides and promotes value added business relationsh­ips for its council members,” he said.

Deputy Trade and Industry Minister Ben Chong represente­d the minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau, who is also the chairman of KKIP, at the event.
