Third Damn Good Burger outlet launched
KOTA KINABALU: IFS Technology Sdn Bhd (IFS) expanded its wings in the restaurant industry by launching the third branch of Damn Good Burger (DGB) at Aeropod Commercial Centre here, yesterday.
According to IFS director Allen Tsang, IFS, which is an investment based company, ought to diversify itself and chose DGB as one of its business expansion programs.
He said one of the main reasons DGB was chosen was due to its founder, Mohd Ashmawi Ashraf, who manifested charm, leadership and proven ability to persevere through difficulties and challenges to be the best in his eatery service.
Additionally, DGB has well maintained good food quality, especially meat burgers and buns and some of the recipes made by Mohd Asmawi, he said when launching the event, yesterday.
Meanwhile, Mohd Ashmawi, who learned culinary art, felt grateful with the opening of the third DGB and shared his bittersweet memories as well as struggles when starting the business from scratch.
The business started with a small stall at Bandar Sierra here and expanded to the opening of other stalls in Penampang, and deliveries. However, he started facing challenges over company contracts and had to close down the stalls.
Despite the hardships he faced, who would have thought the circumstances would lead him to another opportunity to buy a shop lot at the city center here along Lorong Dewan, and opened the first DGB branch. The second DGB branch is at ITCC Mall, Penampang.
DGB brought the American street food here by serving one of the best burgers in town with its very classic homemade sauce and mouth watering homemade patties.
